Q. We make and receive a large number of calls. How many calls can PhoneControl store and handle? A. You are limited purely to the size of the hard disk on the PhoneControl computer collecting call data. On average, you will need approximately 1 Kilobyte per extension per day to store call data. PhoneControl can report on any number of calls.
Q. Can PhoneControl report on abandoned calls? A. Yes. However, some PABX’s do not report on abandoned calls. If this information is not passed by the PABX to the PhoneControl system, then the Advanced Reports module will be unable to determine the answered/unanswered status of the call, hence it displays calls less than 30 seconds as unanswered. Please consult your PABX maintainer, and then your PhoneControl distributor, to find out more details. Even if the PABX can give this information, it may not have been enabled to output it.
Q. How do I register PhoneControl? A. To register you need to either fax or email the 'Register.txt', located in the PhoneControl installation directory. Please do NOT edit the contents of thisfile. Once you recieve the registration code, enter it in the 'Register' of Program Configuration.
Q. Is there a limit to the amount of carriers on which PhoneControl can make comparison reports? A. This is only restricted by the number of carriers configured within the PhoneControl system. There is no practical limit to the amount of carriers that can be configured within the PhoneControl system.
Q. Can PhoneControl be installed on a Server? A. Yes. However, if the occasion rises where the PC needs be restarted this may cause inconvenience to other network users. Please be aware that in order for PhoneControl to work correctly it may have to be installed on a dedicated computer.
Q. Can PhoneControl work over a Local Area Network or Wide Area Network? A. Both. However, a multi user license is required. Please be aware that the speed of PhoneControl is dependant on network traffic. PhoneControl Prestige comes with a ten-user multi license.
Q. How do I configure PhoneControl to be multi-user? A. You must have a Multi User License first. Then contact Technical Support to obtain documentation on how to set it up.
Q. Is PhoneControl a 16-Bit or 32-Bit product? A. PhoneControl Version 4 is a 16-Bit program, but Prestige V4 is 32-bit. All Version 5 software is 32-Bit, and as such must be installed on Windows 95 or above. Version 5.5 must be installed on Windows 98 or above.
Q. Will PhoneControl work on a Macintosh/IMAC machine? A. No. If the software is installed on a Macintosh/IMAC machine we cannot provide support.
